Teri Watson

Founder & Creative Director

Dr. Teri Watson is an architectural designer based in Miami, FL. Born in Houston, Texas, Dr. Watson holds a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies from Florida A&M University and a Master of Architecture from Florida International University. With over ten years in traditional practice, she has led award-winning projects and was named the 2023 AIA Miami/Ft. Lauderdale Project Manager of the Year. In 2025, she earned her Doctor of Design from Florida International University, where her research advanced marine and waste-derived construction materials . Dr. Watson is the founder of YEN Studio, an Architectural Research practice changing urban fabric and coastal communities.

“After practicing professionally for over seven years, I decided to launch this passion project to bridge the gap between minority professionals and the public. It was also important for me to create a space where architects, architectural designers, and engineers of color could connect and collaborate.
